Laying the Groundwork for Indian Investment into Canada

Please join us on April 17th when we welcome Mr. B. Muthuraman, Chairman, Tata International Ltd and Vice Chairman, Tata Steel Ltd, to our podium to discuss India’s economy and how Indian companies such as Tata look at Canada.

According to a recent Canada-India joint study group report, Canada is one of the world’s most dynamic economies and a destination of choice for foreign investment.  Furthermore, Canada’s stable and well-capitalized financial system, which was ranked by the World Economic Forum as the soundest in the world, is supported by one of the world’s most effective national regulatory frameworks.

These characteristics make Canada a prime destination for foreign direct investment, especially for Indian companies.  In fact, India’s foreign direct investment into Canada is on a sharp upward trend and there will continue to be unique opportunities for Indian companies to lead the way in forging a stronger relationship with Canada.  Drawing on Tata Steel’s $5 billion investment in Quebec-Labrador, which is expected to provide more than 5,000 construction jobs and 1,200 permanent jobs to the region, Mr. Muthuraman will discuss the considerable opportunity for Indian companies to invest in Canada in the years ahead.
