The Canadian Club of Toronto is pleased to announce that Dr. Ifzal Ali, Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank, will make an exclusive Toronto appearance to announce the release of the Asian Development Bank’s flagship economic document, the Asia Development Outlook 2008.
ADB’s Outlook includes comprehensive economic analysis and forecasts of more than 40 economies in developing Asia and the Pacific, and examines medium-term trends and prospects by subregion – East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central and West Asia, and the Pacific.
Mr. Ali’s office oversees economic research and knowledge management in support of institutional, regional, and ADB’s member countries. His current research interests include micro and macroeconomic policy reforms in the context of globalization and competitiveness for the developing countries of Asia.
His office also works with the international research community. He joined the bank has been Chief Economist since August, 2002.
Mr. Ali holds a Pd.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree from St Stephen’s College, Delhi.
