From Oxford and Cambridge in Britain, to Harvard in the USA, universities have long been part of building and shaping the communities in which they live. Using his experience at Ryerson University and in Toronto, and drawing on his knowledge of other cities and universities, Sheldon Levy will talk about universities as “City Builders” for the 21st century. More specifically, he’ll talk about how Ryerson University’s new Master Plan challenges traditional thinking about universities and how Ryerson, in Toronto’s downtown core, is becoming more engaged in issues facing the city and broader community.,
