It’s about time.
Toronto may be on a roll. But unless we fix our chronic problems, all our momentum and liveability will fade.
So we have to act now, act together, and act because we love our city.
Join us as Rahul K. Bhardwaj, President & CEO of the Toronto Foundation, reveals the results of Toronto’s Vital Signs® Report 2014, the annual snapshot on the quality of life in our city.
Described by Toronto Life as “the most reliable assessment on the state of the city in circulation”, the Toronto’s Vital Signs® Report provides a snapshot of the trends in our city, highlighting progress we should be proud of and challenges that need to be addressed to improve quality of life in Toronto. It is a powerful springboard for civic engagement and philanthropic investment used by residents, businesses, community organizations, universities and colleges, and governments. In fact, it now reaches more than one million people in the GTA and has been incorporated by local universities and colleges into courses that reach more than 10,000 students. The model of Vital Signs® has also been adopted by 35 other Community Foundations across Canada and 14 communities across four continents.
Mr. Bhardwaj is also the current Chair of the Board of Directors of Community Foundations of Canada. Formerly a corporate lawyer, he was also Vice President of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid. More recently, Rahul was Chair of the 2012 Ontario Summer Games, the first multi-sport games to be held in Toronto and is currently the Co-Chair of TO2015 IGNITE, a program of the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games. He has served as a Director on many other cultural and civic boards in Toronto and beyond, from Metrolinx, to the Canadian Opera Company, to Upper Canada College. His dedication to our communities led him to be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and for the National Post to proclaim him one of the “Next Generation of Toronto Civic Leaders”. Rahul was twice named one of “The 50 Most Influential” people in the city by Toronto Life.
