2013 Toronto's Vital Signs Report

Please join us on Tuesday, October 1st  when Rahul K. Bhardwaj, President & CEO of the Toronto Community Foundation, reveals the findings in the 2013 Toronto’s Vital Signs® Report. This year’s presentation titled, ‘Are We Analog Players In A Digital World?’, will challenge our thinking about what we need to do to remain one of the most creative and civil societies in the world.

The Toronto’s Vital Signs® Report is a powerful springboard for civic engagement and philanthropic investment. It provides a snapshot of the trends in our city, highlighting progress we should be proud of and challenges that need to be address to improve quality of life in Toronto. The Report is used by residents, businesses, community organizations, universities and colleges, and government departments. Since it was first launched in 2001, this made-in-Toronto innovation has been adopted by more than 30 Community Foundations around the world. It now reaches well over 1 million people across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Toronto’s Vital Signs® aims to: inspire civic engagement, provide focus for public debate, and guide donors and stakeholders who want to direct their resources to areas of greatest needed.

Mr. Bhardwaj has been working to engage philanthropy in Toronto to address challenges facing the city. He is also the newly appointed Chair of Community Foundations of Canada Board of Directors. Formerly a corporate lawyer with a leading Canadian law firm, he was also Vice President of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid. More recently, Rahul was Chair of the 2012 Ontario Summer Games, the first multi-sport games to be held in Toronto and is currently the Co-Chair of TO2015 IGNITE, a program of the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games. He has served as a Director on many other cultural and civic boards in Toronto and beyond. His dedication to our communities led him to be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and for the National Post to proclaim him one of the “Next Generation of Toronto Civic Leaders”. In 2012, Rahul was named one of “The 50 Most Influential” people in the city by Toronto Life magazine.
