The Innovation Challenge: For Business AND for Government

Nancy Hughes Anthony will present the “Innovation Challenge” and what Canadian business, and the Canadian government, must do to keep Canada competitive in the global marketplace. While Canadians continue to be innovative, the Canadian Chamber believes that more needs to be done and that innovation must be diffused throughout the economy to create wealth, jobs and a higher standard of living for all Canadians.

With over 170,000 members, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce is Canada’s largest and most representative national business association. As President and CEO, Ms. Hughes Anthony is the principal spokesperson advocating the policy positions of the Canadian Chamber’s members to the federal government. Prior to her arrival at the Canadian Chamber, Ms. Hughes Anthony gained senior experience in the federal and provincial government as well as the private sector, having served as a federal deputy minister, a senior advisor to the government of Prince Edward Island and most recently as a corporate vice-president.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is the national leader in public policy advocacy on business issues, seeking to foster a strong, competitive economic environment that benefits Canada and all Canadians.
