In an era where societies must be more interdependent, how do we as a society renew our commitment to federalism to face the challenges of the future?
Please join us on Friday, October 3rd when Mr. Benoît Pelletier, Quebec’s Minister Responsible for Canadian Intergovernmental Affairs, Aboriginal Affairs and Francophones within Canada, discusses how managing interdependency and tighter cooperation among societies are the key to making federalism relevant and attractive to Canada.
Minister Pelletier will outline how Canada must use its diversity and social pluralism to face the challenges of the future. This will not only make Canada stronger and more united, but it will also enhance its reputation worldwide. He will also discuss how Quebecers are now, more than ever, ready to contribute to the evolution of Canada and, in doing so, seek greater respect for and acknowledgement of its identity within the federation.
Mr. Benoît Pelletier has a Doctor of Laws from Université Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and from Université Aix-Marseille III. He specializes in constitutional law. Elected into Quebec government since 1998, he was re-elected on April 18, 2007 and appointed Minister Responsible for Canadian Intergovernmental Affairs, Aboriginal Affairs and Francophones within Canada.
