Putting Canada First: The Case for Northern Gateway

With only one market for crude oil, our most valuable export, Canada’s economic prospects are seriously constrained. Please join us on Monday, May 14th when Janet Holder, Enbridge’s Executive Vice President of Western Access, will discuss how the proposed Northern Gateway Pipelines project will safely move Canadian crude oil beyond North America and onto world energy markets. Janet will talk about how the project will diversify the customer base for Canada’s energy exports, a  linchpin of the nation’s economy, and connect to the growing energy markets of the Pacific Rim nations.

Janet Holder was promoted to Executive Vice President, Western Access of Enbridge Inc. in September 2011.

Ms. Holder is responsible for the overall leadership of the Northern Gateway Pipelines Project, providing oversight in advancing this project through the public and government review process.

Ms. Holder is also a member of Calgary-based Enbridge Inc.’s Executive Leadership Team.

Previously, Ms. Holder was President, Gas Distribution, Enbridge Inc., and President of Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc.,  – the first woman to hold the position.

She first joined Enbridge in 1992, holding progressively more strategic roles in areas including gas supply and as Vice President of Energy Services, Market Development and Operations at Enbridge Gas Distribution.  She also held senior positions in Corporate and Liquids Pipelines.

Ms. Holder serves on the Board of Directors of Hydro One Inc. She also serves on the Boards of Saint Elizabeth Health Care and Saint Elizabeth Health Care Foundation (Chair) .  She was also the 2011 United Way Toronto Campaign Chair.
