Over the last five years, Ontario has made historic investments in postsecondary education and training to help Ontarians get the skills and knowledge they need to drive a strong economy. Ontario’s 2011 Budget will help 60,000 more students go to college and university over the next five years.

John Milloy was elected to the Ontario legislature in 2003 and re-elected in 2007. He was appointed Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities in 2007.
Between June 2009 and August 2010 he took on additional responsibilities as Minister of Research and Innovation. He has previously served as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Before becoming an MPP, Milloy was responsible for public affairs at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo. He has worked for a series of provincial and federal politicians, including as Legislative Assistant to Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. A graduate of Carleton University and the London School of Economics, he received his doctorate in modern history from the University of Oxford where he was a Commonwealth Scholar.
