Since 1992, The Canadian Club of Toronto has presented its Canadian of the Year Award to a Canadian chosen to be outstanding in their field, be it business, politics, the arts or sport. This year the Club is proud to present the award to one of this country’s leaders in the fields of philanthropy and volunteerism, Toronto’s own Bluma Appel.
Bluma’s outstanding portfolio of volunteer work includes numerous cultural, social and health care organizations. In addition she is the Founder and Chair of CANFAR, the Canadian charitable organization dedicated to research and awareness of HIV/AIDS. And, along with her longstanding philanthropic efforts supporting the arts, it was Bluma, who led the charge to ensure a place for women on the Board of every bank in this country.
Please join us April 30th for a lunch that will be sure to have a buzz, as we celebrate the incomparable Bluma!
