Craig Mundie, Senior Vice President, Chief Technical Officer, Advanced Strategies and Policy, Microsoft Corporation, will address the Canadian Club on the topic of New Frontiers of Knowledge and Innovation. In his role as advisor to Chairman Bill Gates, Mundie works to develop technical, business and policy strategies for Microsoft Corporation. He will offer perspective about the new realities of the connected, technical world we live in, the promise of technology to address society’s most pressing problems and its increasing ability to enable individuals, communities, businesses, governments and countries – to realize their fullest potential.

Mr. Mundie is also involved in policy-related activities encompassing security, privacy, encryption and telecom regulation and works with government and business leaders in Washington, D.C., to address these issues. In February 2002, Mundie became a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. The council is a nonpartisan membership organization, research center and publisher dedicated to increasing America’s understanding of the world and contributing ideas to U.S. foreign policy. In April 2002, Mundie became a member of the Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. The task force’s main project is to develop a strategy for using new technologies and information to address new security challenges.
