Fulfilling the Promise of Toronto: An Action Plan for the City Region

Bold steps are needed to expand transit, build affordable housing, welcome immigrants, renew tourism, create a research infrastructure second to none, and enable a new fiscal deal for cities. In his speech David Pecaut will discuss the major challenges facing the Toronto City Region and the need for civic leaders to work together to address them. He will discuss the work of the Toronto City Summit Alliance and give his personal vision of what else can and should be done to realize the full potential of Toronto.

David Pecaut is currently the volunteer Chair of the Toronto City Summit Alliance, a coalition of civic leaders in the Toronto region which has formulated an action plan to revitalize the region (see torontocitysummit.ca). He is also the founder of the Toronto 03 Alliance, a non-profit corporation established to rebuild tourism in the Toronto region after the SARS crisis this year. David is also the CEO of the iFormation Group, founded in 2000 with the backing of The Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, and General Atlantic Partners. Prior to launching iFormation, David founded and managed the Toronto office of The Boston Consulting Group and founded and led BCG’s global e-commerce practice.
