Janet Bannister (General Partner, Real Ventures)

Janet is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and their businesses reach their full potential.  Her background is a combination of founding and building successful entrepreneurial ventures and making an impact at leading companies such as Procter & Gamble, McKinsey & Co., and eBay.  Janet is a General Partner at Real Ventures, Canada’s largest and most active early-stage venture capital firm.  Janet has led investments in a dozen companies and works actively with Real’s portfolio companies to help them accelerate growth and create meaningful impact.

Janet launched Kijiji.ca and grew it to become one of the most visited websites in Canada.  Subsequently, she led the Kijiji Global business, accelerating growth in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Prior to launching Kijiji, Janet was at eBay in Silicon Valley where she led multiple “non-collectibles” categories and helped transform eBay from a collectibles to a mainstream marketplace.  She also founded and built a successful consulting business and was CEO at a Toronto-based start-up in the online content and commerce space.

Janet was a varsity long-distance runner and competed internationally in triathlons.  Today she balances her active lifestyle with being a wife and mother to her eleven-year old son.

 

Jeff Marshall (Senior Vice President, Digital Banking, Scotiabank)

Jeff Marshall is the SVP, Digital Banking for Scotiabank in Canada. Jeff’s mandate includes Digital Technology, CX Design, Digital Marketing and Strategy –  including Scotiabank’s Digital Factory in Toronto. Previously, Jeff was VP of Digital Channels where he and his team were responsible for delivering new innovations and a leading customer experience for mobile and online banking.  Jeff originally joined the Bank as the VP of Marketing. Before Scotiabank, Jeff spent a number of years at Loblaw companies – Canada’s largest retailer, where he held roles leading Customer Strategy and Marketing. Prior, he spent over a decade in banking with President’s Choice Financial and TD Bank – in both Canada and the United States.

His passions include technology, cars, and spending time with his two daughters.

 

Nadine Mirchandani (Americas Financial Services Leader, Financial Services Organization, EY)

Nadine Mirchandani, Americas Transaction Leader for the Financial Services Organization, brings more than 23 years of experience advising in the financial services sector. Ms. Mirchandani focuses on leading large complex corporate and private equity M&A transactions.  In her leadership role, Ms. Mirchandani sets strategy in connection with markets, talent and operations, serves on firm leadership committees and is responsible for delivering business unit results. 

Ms. Mirchandani also holds a global industry leadership role and is responsible for overseeing the global relationship with one of firm’s largest global financial services accounts.

Ms. Mirchandani has worked extensively in the US, Canada and the UK, and has transaction experience that includes Western Europe, Asia and various Latin American countries. Ms. Mirchandani is a frequent speaker and contributor on topics relating to financial services, acquisitions, Fintech and leadership. In 2012, Nadine was featured in Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching Issue.

Ms. Mirchandani is a CPA, a member of the AICPA as well as a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant and a member of CPA Canada and CPA Ontario Nadine is a graduate of Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada.

Ms. Mirchandani is a member of the Board of Directors of City Harvest, and a 2016/2017 David Rockefeller Fellow.
