Please join us for the evening on Tuesday, December 5th as we feature an exclusive tutored tasting of some of Canada’s marvelous and thriving artisanal cheeses, cheeses which are making waves on both local and international food circuits. Our host will be chef Gurth Pretty, whose prolific career has led to such accomplished roles as chef manager at Canadian pavilions at international trade shows, as the Canadian culinary consultant for the production staff of Emeril Live, and now as the author of The Definitive Guide to Canadian Artisanal and Fine Cheese.
You’ll sample hors d’ouevres such as cherry tomatoes stuffed with roasted walnuts and Ontario goat cheese and baked olive balls made with parmesan from Alberta. Our mains will include Gurth’s mouth-watering Grey Cup Stuffed Provolone Sandwich and for the dessert portion of our tasting we’ll feature one of Quebec’s best Triple Creme Brie’s and a fabulous Ontario Gorgonzola. And given that this is a cheese and beer pairing, you’ll get to taste beers from Canada and around the world that have been specifically matched with these foods.
