Ontario's Competitive Edge: People. Skills. Education.

With our export economy struggling against a high dollar, soaring energy prices and a slowdown in the manufacturing sector, how will Ontario businesses compete in a global market?

The Canadian Club of Toronto is proud to bring to the business community the Hon. John Milloy, Ontario’s Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, to discuss the government’s labour market strategy and the importance of skills training in Ontario.

What action is the government taking to help Ontario businesses stay competitive?

What is being done to help Ontario families adjust to a changing labour market?

Minister Milloy will highlight the importance of Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training as fundamental pillars in Ontario’s strategy to compete in today’s globalized economy. The Minister will also discuss the importance of investing in skills training, particularly for workers who have been recently displaced due to global economic forces and what the government is doing to help people start a second career.

John Milloy was first elected Member of Provincial Parliament for Kitchener Centre in 2003. He was re-elected in 2007 and appointed Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities on October 30, 2007.
