At this joint meeting of the Canadian Club of Toronto and the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association of Toronto, Ambassador Marchi will discuss the World Trade Organization: From Doha and Beyond, including the launch of new global trade negotiations, China’s membership in the WTO, and what this means for Canadian interests.
Ambassador Marchi was appointed to his current post in August 1999, following a political career that spanned more than 15 years. Sergio Marchi served as a Councillor in the City of North York, and as a Liberal Member of Parliament. His six years in the Federal Cabinet culminated in his appointment as Minister for International Trade, a post that he held for 2 years.
