With over 300 mining supply and service companies, the region plays a crucial role in powering Canada’s economy and supporting North America’s critical mineral needs. Despite being a global leader in sustainable mining practices and holding key critical minerals essential for securing supply chains, Canada is not fully leveraging this strategic advantage for national growth and prosperity and to thwart recent geopolitical threats. This needs to change.

Perry Dellelce

Perry Dellelce is a founder and managing partner of Wildeboer Dellelce LLP, one of Canada’s leading corporate finance and transactional law firms. Along with his corporate experience, Mr. Dellelce sits on the Board of Directors of multiple charitable organizations including Chair of the Canadian Olympic Foundation, Co-Chair of The Cathedral District Campaign and the past Chair of Sunnybrook Foundation.
His passion for health care, education and sport philanthropy has been recognized most recently by the Rotary Club of Sudbury with the Paul Harris Award and Sunnybrook Foundation with the Rose Award, highlighting his leadership and contribution to humanitarian efforts.
Heather Exner- Pirot
Senior Fellow & Director of Energy, Natural Resources & Environment, Macdonald-Laurier Institute
Heather Exner-Pirot is a Senior Fellow and Director of Energy, Natural Resources and Environment at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Ottawa, Special Advisor to the Business Council of Canada, Research Advisor to the Indigenous Resource Network, and Global Fellow at the Wilson Centre in Washington D.C.
She has twenty years of experience in Indigenous, Arctic and resource development and governance. She has published on Indigenous economic development, resource politics and policy, energy security, Arctic human security, regional Arctic governance and the Arctic Council, Arctic innovation, First Nations equity and own source revenues, and more. She obtained a PhD in Political Science from the University of Calgary in 2011.
Exner-Pirot sits on the boards of the Saskatchewan Indigenous Economic Development Network and the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation. She is a member of the Canadian Defence and Security Network and a Network Coordinator at the North American and Arctic Defense and Security Network. She is the Managing Editor of the Arctic Yearbook (an international, peer-reviewed annual volume), a member of Yukon’s Arctic Security Advisory Council, and the former Chair of the Canadian Northern Studies Trust.
She has published over 45 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and edited volumes, and presented at over 100 conferences and events nationally and internationally, in addition to authoring dozens of op-eds in Canada’s top publications.
Paul Lefebvre
Mayor of Greater Sudbury
Paul Lefebvre was elected Mayor of Greater Sudbury on October 24, 2022, and assumed office on November 15, 2022. He serves as a member of the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board as well as the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation. Paul was elected Member of Parliament for the riding of Sudbury in 2015 and served for six years, until 2021. During his time with the federal government, he sat on the Public Accounts and Official Languages Committees before being appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Natural Resources.
He is an accomplished tax lawyer, and dedicated time as Commissioner to the Ontario Human Rights Commission. He also taught international tax law at the University of Ottawa. He served as past chair of the Sudbury Community Foundation, and the 2011 Canadian Francophone games, and as past Vice-President of l’Association de la presse francophone, and past president of Centre de Santé Communautaire. He has served as the past president of the Sudbury District Law Association and United Way. A music and Theatre enthusiast, he is a founder, as well as past chair of the Jazz Sudbury Festival, and the past president of Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario.
Matthew Bondy

Matthew founded Bondy & Associates in 2024.
He served previously as Deputy Chief of Staff to Hon. Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario. He has been serving clients as a strategic advisor for several years, first with Enterprise Canada and now with B&A. Previously he served as Vice-President, External Relations at Communitech Corporation, one of North America’s largest tech incubators. Matthew serves as Chairman of the Government of Ontario’s Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee and is a Senior Fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Ottawa. He is a frequent media commentator, speaker, and columnist on foreign and defence policy, with bylines in North America’s top publications. He volunteers extensively for causes he cares about, including presently with the St. Jerome’s University (Roman Catholic) Board of Governors.
A former Army Reservist, Matthew was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to Canada in 2012.
