Governments, Markets and Electricity Supply

Seldom has there been more misinformation, disinformation, covering of posteriors and ideological protestations than that which has been generated (no pun intended) by the California electricity supply crisis and its financial consequences. Sir Graham Day will identify the relevant facts and failings and differentiate clearly the present and prospective Ontario situations from that of California.

Sir Graham is Chairman of Hydro One Inc., a holding company with electricity transmission, distribution, telecom and energy services businesses. In addition, he is Counsel to the Atlantic Canada law firm, Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales and is Chancellor of Dalhousie University. In 1993 Sir Graham retired as Chairman of Cadbury Schweppes plc and PowerGen plc, both FTSE 100 companies in the United Kingdom. Prior to that, he served terms as Chairman of British Aerospace plc, and Chairman and CEO of British Shipbuilders and The Rover Group Limited. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1989.
