Back to the Future: Rebuilding Confidence

We are living through an economic crisis that is testing the confidence of investors and the resolve of industry participants and regulators. Political leaders, policy makers and regulators have implemented or are contemplating a host of financial stimulus and regulatory reform measures which are unprecedented in scope. The need for transparency and collaboration has been underscored and measures to rebuild investor confidence are more critical than ever.

Discussions about reforms that will significantly impact the financial services industry are being considered both in Canada and around the world. Effective regulatory responses will depend on thoughtful and balanced approaches to reform that will stand the test of time.

Please join us on Tuesday, May 26th when Susan Wolburgh Jenah, President & CEO, The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, discusses these issues.

Ms. Wolburgh Jenah was President of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) from June 2007 until the merger of the IDA and Market Regulation Services Inc. (RS) in June 2008. Before joining the IDA, Ms. Wolburgh Jenah served as Vice Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission from 2004-2007 and as Acting Chair of the Commission from July to November 2005. Prior to her appointment as Vice Chair, she served as General Counsel and Director of International Affairs, representing the Commission on international committees of IOSCO and COSRA.
