In Partnership with the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Hong Kong-Canada Business Association, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Despite the global financial and economic turmoil, Mainland China recorded a 7.9 per cent growth in GDP in the second quarter of 2009. Hong Kong also continues playing its key role as a two-way springboard for both international and Mainland companies looking for opportunities. Hong Kong’s special strategic position makes it particularly important for Canadian businesses/services interested in the China market. In 2008, Canada’s direct investment in Hong Kong amounted to $6 billion. There are close to a hundred Canadian companies with regional headquarters/offices in Hong Kong.
